20th Century Fox has been making memorable movies for 75 years. I'm happy to bring you this review of 3 of their movies: The Fault In Our Stars, X Men- Days of Future Past, and Young Frankenstein.

About 20th Century Fox:

20th Century Fox’s story begins in a tiny theater on New York’s Lower East Side. In 1904, fresh from Hungary, 25-year-old William Fox amazed audiences with his magical hand-cranked films. The beginnings were humble – folding chairs, a painted wall for a screen — but the desire to entertain and move people has been at the core of what 20th Century Fox has been doing ever since. By 1915 Fox’s five-cent movie shows were wildly popular and his single screen grew first into a chain of 25 theaters around New York City and then into a movie making business.

As the digital revolution reshapes all aspects of the entertainment industry, 20th Century Fox remains on the forefront, embracing new technologies that take our audience deeper into our films. From thrilling animated features to special effects that make our super heroes leap and fly off the screen, our mission is the same as it was over a century ago, give people the simple pleasure of being transported by a story on a screen.

Comedy icons Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman, Teri Garr and Madeline Kahn star in Mel Brooks’ brilliantly outrageous riff on Mary Shelley’s classic story of Frankenstein. After inheriting his grandfather’s castle in Transylvania, young Dr. Frankenstein (Wilder) follows in his ancestor’s freaky footsteps as he sets out to reanimate a dead body in Brooks’ “funniest, most cohesive comedy to date.” (The New York Times)

Young Frankenstein was nominated for two Academy Awards* and two Golden Globe Awards**. More than 40 years later, the film has stood the test of time, ranking at lucky number 13 on the American Film Institute’s list of the top 100 funniest films.

My Review:

My husband is a big movie buff. He can watch the same movies over and over to the point that he can recite the movies word for word. I was anxious to get these movies for him. I'll admit the first one The Fault In Our Stars is for me. He has no desire to see it since he is battling cancer himself.  The other 2 are for him however.

Have you moved over to blu-ray yet from DVD? If not, I highly suggest it. The images are so much sharper and clearer. Think about what it was like when we went from VHS to DVD. Remember the awe? Times that by at least 20.

All 3 of these movies are must haves in your library. Fault in Our Stars will pull the heartstrings of all the emotional types. I cried reading the book as well as movie. X-Men is great for that superhero fan in your life. Young Frankenstein is a classic! Who doesn't love a good Mel Brooks movie? 20th Century Fox sells many different movies. I bet you could find one for everyone on your holiday shopping list this year!
